Also called foil stamping, is a specialty printing process that uses heat, pressure and a stamping foil (instead of ink) to apply an image. A heated die is stamped onto foil leaving a stunning embellishment behind. The foil process by its nature leaves an impression in the paper, although this is not as deep as letterpress. Typically foil printing is well known for its glamorous and lustrous results with metallic gold and silver foils, however there are several to choose from including rainbow and holographic foils.
